The Opportunity: Join Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort as a Mechanic and put your problem-solving abilities and quick thinking to the test—while maintaining a safety-first mindset—in a dynamic alpine environment. This role offers a diverse range of challenges, from urgent repairs to routine servicing of our fleet, including skidoos, snow clearers, grooming machinery, and other essential vehicles. You won’t be confined to a workshop—your work will take you across the mountain, from preventative maintenance in summer to ensuring smooth lift operations in winter. Key Responsibilities: Green Season (October – May): Conduct pre-winter maintenance and servicing of vehicles, plant, and machinery. Assist with infrastructure upkeep (roads, trails, facilities). Support Assets & Operations team for summer events. White Season (June – September): Perform urgent repairs and maintenance on snow vehicles and machinery. Assist with lift operations and support seasonal staff. Quickly resolve breakdowns impacting resort operations. Qualifications and Experience: Trade qualifications as diesel fitter, mechanic, or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role Metal fabrication skills or equivalent experience Current heavy rigid vehicle licence Previous experience in remote or alpine environments is valued, but not essential The successful candidate will be required to: Have full Australian working rights. Currently hold or be willing to obtain a Victorian Working with Children Check – Employee type Have an Australian drivers licence (VIC preferred) Satisfactorily pass a police check and random drug & alcohol tests.
