ASIC is expanding its in-house litigation team and is looking for highly skilled and experienced litigation lawyers to work on high profile regulatory litigation. Based in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide or Perth (other locations to be considered) $152,074 - $202,614 (depending on experience), plus 15.4% superannuation Permanent roles Applications close at 11:59pm AEDT, 21 December 2025 The team The Civil Litigation team leads ASIC's in-house litigation practice. Our Litigation Counsel act as solicitor on the record and are responsible for the conduct of many of ASIC's high-profile civil litigation regulatory matters in the High Court, Federal Court and State Supreme Courts. The Civil Litigation team also manages external law firms engaged to act for ASIC. It provides guidance on litigation strategy to those law firms and internal investigation teams, including advice on case theories and ASIC's regulatory powers. The team is led by a number of extremely experienced regulatory lawyers. We are proud of our highly committed, experienced and close-knit collegiate team. The Legal Services team is responsible for the delivery of legal services across ASIC and is instrumental in driving ASIC's reputation as a modern and effective regulator. About you We are seeking to recruit experienced senior litigation lawyers to the positions of Litigation Counsel and Senior Lawyer within the ASIC Legal Services team. We are looking for lawyers with: significant commercial / regulatory litigation experience (and admission to practice in the High Court, Federal Court and State Supreme Courts). Litigation Counsel applicants will need to hold unrestricted practising certificates and have experience in managing complex litigation matters and leading teams of lawyers strong technical legal skills, ability to provide strategic direction in regulatory litigation matters, a capacity to communicate with influence to a wide variety of audiences and high-level organisational skills a commitment to providing superior client service a real interest in making a difference through important regulatory litigation with a consumer protection focus.
