About The Role We’re seeking a Library Technician to work in our Senior School Library commencing February 23, 2026 or date to be negotiated with successful applicant. This is a part time role 0.9FTE Term time (school holidays off) Hours of work will be over a 9-day fortnight with Monday requiring a late finish (10.30 am- 6pm) with alternating Tuesday off. The normal hours of work for all other days will be 8.30 am- 4.00 pm The Library Technician will be responsible for providing a range of services to enable quality learning for every member of the school community. Services ranging from assisting with library operations, to cataloguing and maintenance of the library management system and promotion of resources. To be successful in this role you will be expected to: · Maintain the efficient and timely acquisition and processing of library resources · Support the teaching and learning program of the library service · Assist all members of the college community in their use of library spaces and resources · Perform responsible tasks associated with the efficient operation of the library service · have excellent written and oral communication skills · Demonstrate attention to detail · Experience in a school library role or school is preferable Key Responsibilities include: · Assist with acquisition processes including resource tracking Cataloguing in line with professional practice, including original cataloguing where required Assist with circulation duties, including loans, returns, reservations and bookings Performing general library duties, including stock and inventory maintenance, and assisting with collection development tasks as directed Assist with the coordination of physical displays Assist with general tidiness of the physical environment of the library Assist with general supervision of students in a busy and thriving library Qualifications and Expertise · Library technician tertiary qualification · School experience in a similar role highly desirable · Skills and experience using IT systems, or experience using specific library management systems is preferable A current Employee Working with Children Check Why Join Us?
