Your Employer Our client is Australian owned and managed, and arguably one of the nation’s most successful transformative agricultural companies. Their Almond farming operation in Katunga is a large 8,500ha horticultural development, with plans to covert 5,500ha into almonds orchards over the next 4 years (1,500ha of which already planted). Supporting the future growth of this leading Almond Orchard development, a skilled Leading Hand Mechanic is now required to join their team. The Role As the Leading Hand Mechanic, you will support day-to-day workshop activities while providing leadership and oversight of service operations. You’ll work hands-on with a growing maintenance team to deliver scheduled servicing, diagnostics, repairs and performance improvements across a large and expanding fleet. Key Responsibilities include: Lead daily workshop tasks to support fleet performance and safety Conduct scheduled servicing, diagnostics and repair across machinery types Collaborate with orchard teams and the Workshop Manager to prioritise tasks Support CMMS reporting, inventory and maintenance planning (MEX system) Uphold safety standards and workshop compliance Assist with parts ordering, job tracking and process improvements Mentor and support junior mechanics About You Relevant trade qualification with 2 years’ experience post-trade Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement Solid diagnostic and problem-solving skills Strong communication and teamwork capabilities Basic hand tools (specialist tools provided) Willingness to obtain HR licence (if not already held) Experience with ag/horticultural machinery (highly regarded) The Benefits This role offers excellent professional development in a well-resourced and forward-thinking environment.
