THE POSITION We are seeking an energetic, customer-focused Level 1, IT Support Officer. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive and driven team. As our IT Support Officer, you will be the first point of contact for Systems Access, IT-related issues, incidents, or requests. On a daily basis, you will be taking calls and responding to email queries, investigating and troubleshooting IT issues. This role will work across both Colleges - Moreton Bay College and Moreton Bay Boys’ College and is a critical member of the IT team. All staff are appointed by the Interim CEO and Executive Principal of MBC and MBBC, and they are responsible to this role for the overall performance of their duties. The Interim CEO and Executive Principal delegates authority to senior staff for the effective management of the College. The IT Support Officer – Level 1 reports to the Director of IT. All staff need to be supportive of the values, Christian ethos and Ethical Statement of these Uniting Church day schools. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The IT Support Officer will support the provision of effective and efficient ICT Services that underpin the Academic and Technical Services of the Colleges, whilst: Supporting the strategic implementation of Moreton Bay College’s infrastructure platform and ensuring the future development of ICT Services are aligned with best practice, Contributing to the identification and implementation of ICT Systems improvement initiatives that minimise downtime to the College’s environment, Following installation and configuration procedures, practices and documentation, Planning and managing assigned activities with an emphasis on quality, timeliness and budget, Reviewing and prioritising support requests and coordinate successful resolutions, Providing computer hardware and application software support to staff and students across the range of operating systems, Providing a timely and effective service in response to the diverse information technology issues arising in the College’s, Participating in the provisioning of general technical services in the College’s and other duties as required, Assisting with the day-to-day operations of the Service Desk, ensuring that requests are being managed efficiently and following ITIL standards, Promoting and ensuring the use of agreed methods, tools and reference material to drive efficiency and consistency within the team, Following ICT practice, procedures and documentation thereof, Working within a team and assist across all areas when necessary, Ensuring the Service Desk upholds the College’s image by providing visually high standards in both digital and physical domains, and Undertaking projects and activities as required by the Director of IT and eLearning. Actively contribute to a safety citizenship culture upholding health and safety policies, procedures, hazard reporting and safe work practices. SKILLS AND ABILITIES To be successful in this role you will need: A genuine passion for helping people A suitable IT qualification (or current studies) Excellent communication skills Experience in the education or IT sector would be beneficial but is not essential for the right candidate This is a full-time permanent position that would suit an energetic and intelligent person looking to start their career in IT. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Servicing inbound support visits, calls and emails from staff and students Servicing support of our own internal IT infrastructure Remote upgrades and version control of our software as directed Assisting the development team with testing and QA work Assisting the implementations team with on-boarding of new clients Taking ownership of issues and driving them to completion CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Working with Children Suitability Card, or the ability to apply, is essential. WORK ENVIRONMENT You will be required to work at both campuses – Moreton Bay College and Moreton Bay Boys’ College. You will have an individual computer in a shared workspace. The role necessitates a physically capable capacity. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Close vision is a requirement of the role. CONDITIONS AND SALARY This is a permanent full-time position with the salary to be negotiated on appointment in line with the Moreton Bay College Enterprise Agreement. This role is classified at School Officer Level 3. Sick Leave entitlement of 10 days annually. Long Service Leave entitlement of 1.3 weeks for each year of service, which can be taken after 7 years. The College contributes superannuation in accordance with the Moreton Bay Enterprise Agreement.
