The key duties of the position include We are seeking an IT Mainframe Database Administrator to join our Enterprise Solutions and Technology business area. As an IT Mainframe Database Administrator, you will plan, co-ordinate and deliver detailed, technical or sensitive projects that impact on strategic or operational outcomes. You'll provide advice to technical specialists and business partners, and seek their cooperation in the provision of database administration, problem solving and issues management. You will play a central role in database design, data integration across multiple platforms, and the collection of performance statistics to support tuning improvement and troubleshoot issues with DB2 databases. You'll also assist clients with the creation and management of test databases. To support these responsibilities, you'll be required to participate in an on-call roster to provide out-of-hours support. You will assist with project management, operational and business planning and financial year forward planning, and assist with strategy planning by collaborating with business partners. Your team will be involved with modernisation, automation and continuous improvement to existing services, ensuring the mainframe is ready for business at all advertised times.
