National Operations | Targeting & Intelligence Operations | ABF Intelligence The Australian Border Force (ABF) Intelligence Branch provides the ABF with insights into the threat environment as it relates to the border continuum, enabling our operational teams pre, at and post border to address risk and posture in response to the movement of illicit goods and people over the border. We operate with a clear responsibility to provide operational insights ensuring intelligence is fully integrated into the ABF operations. This strengthens the overall effectiveness of delivering a single unified vision of Intelligence across the ABF. This recruitment will seek to fill a number of existing and expected vacancies across ABF Intelligence branch including: Regional Intelligence Teams National Disruption Group (Illicit Tobacco and Vapes) Tobacco and Vapes Intelligence Financial Intelligence. Our ideal candidate Can communicate clearly and concisely through verbal and written briefs and assessments Has an understanding of law enforcement, immigration and/or border threats and priorities Has an understanding of the intelligence cycle and can demonstrate research, analysis and writing skills Demonstrates the ability to prioritise and effectively meet deadlines in a high-tempo environment Has the ability to work in a team and autonomously, can network, engage and collaborate with others to achieve tasks Has a desire to learn and strive towards continuous improvement and is willing to share expertise and support the development of others. The key duties of the position include Plan and scope moderately complex intelligence analysis Detect patterns, relationships and anomalies in data using intelligence tradecraft, analytical tools and techniques Evaluate source reliability, content validity and relevance of information/data supporting the intelligence requirements Use a range of structured analytical techniques to develop preliminary inferences and conclusions regarding routine intelligence analysis Establish, develop and maintain relationships with partner agencies to foster collaboration and two-way information sharing on intelligence matters Provide intelligence briefs and oral and written briefings for tactical and operational stakeholders and external customers. Additional information Some positions will require a Negative Vetting Level 1 Security Clearance to commence.
