The key duties of the position include The Role Defence Digital Group (DDG) is seeking an experienced ICT Costing Partner to assist our project managers to ensure costings for our ICT projects underpin sound business cases, assist in strategic decision-making and value-for-money outcomes and meet the need to build Defence ICT capability. Our ICT Costing Partner will operate in a dynamic environment where strategic priorities and competing demands require you to balance accuracy, timeliness, and stakeholder expectations. You will (with consultation with our project managers) and using your ICT project management experience: Draft cost models through end-to-end project cost estimates initiation phase and adjust through project life cycle. Prepare financial documentation and reporting for various Defence and Government processes. Undertake cost assurance and review activities as needed through deep dives. Provide financial input for contract change proposals, escalation calculations, and budget establishment. Support the establishment and professionalisation of cost estimation practices across DDG and contribute to the development of a Cost Estimation Framework, common standards, and exemplars. The Chapter Lead Cost will work alongside other Chapter Leads in the Program Management Office Branch to deliver capability within the Military and Enterprise Systems Divisions. Our Ideal Candidate To be successful in this role you will demonstrate: Proven track record of assisting in costing activities for business cases for ICT projects with hands-on experience in project cost estimation methodologies, tools, and models, ideally applied to ICT transformation. Understanding of project management methodologies such as SaFE, waterfall and PRINCE2. Critical and analytical skills, able to assess complex information, challenge assumptions, and develop evidence-based insights that strengthen business cases and investment decisions. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence, build trust, manage relationships with senior leaders, delivery partners, and finance specialists. Ability to navigate competing priorities, delivering high-quality outcomes within tight A collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to building a new, high-performing professional chapter in cost estimation.
