Description About the role: This role is an opportunity to lead the WA Female State Academy as head of high-Performance and to support Western Australia’s most talented athletes in their quest to enhance their development as players’ entry into the WAFLW, State Academy and/or the AFL system. This is a full time, permanent position. Key Responsibilites: To lead the WA Female State Academy as Head of High-Performance and to support Western Australia’s most talented athletes in their quest to enhance their development as players’ entry into the WAFLW, State Academy and/or the AFL system. Ensure the program caters for individual differences, rehab, and varying player workloads, as well as, encouraging the physical development of players through the strength and conditioning programs. Work in close collaboration and alignment with the Manager - Female Talent Programs and Head Coach in all components of the program. Communicate effectively, to educate for match day to maximise player development and performance. Plan, communicate and implement the preparation of the team for matches (home and interstate), in conjunction with Head Coach. Provision of accurate and timely feedback (verbal, written, visual) to all players/staff via face to face and web-based tools. Support the integration of staff and resources between State 16’s and 18’s for both male and female programs. Skills And Experiences Experience Required: Essential: Bachelor Degree in Exercise Science (or equivalent). Minimum 3 years’ practical experience in High Performance sport. Level 1 certification ASCA. Demonstrated ability to micro plan a sequential training program based on player management and conditioning outcomes for talented youth football players. Demonstrated knowledge of use and application of GPS technology. Current WA Working with Children Check. Desirable: Master’s Degree in Exercise Science (or equivalent). Level 2 certification ASCA. Experience working in developing S&C programs for High Performance Youth Football Pathways Current first aid certificate.
