About the role In this community-based role, you will deliver evidence-based alcohol and other drug services to individuals, families, and groups. You will support harm minimisation, maintain a clinical caseload, participate in community engagement, and contribute to the delivery of key AOD programs across the region. Key Responsibilities: * Provide evidence-based assessment, treatment, and support to AODS clients using harm-minimisation principles. * Manage a clinical caseload and maintain accurate, medico-legal documentation. * Deliver and support community engagement, education, and relapse-prevention programs. * Participate in key services including the Opioid Treatment Program, Needle & Syringe Program, and Diversion Programs. * Provide early intervention for clients diverted from the justice system. * Contribute to service planning, program implementation, and quality improvement activities. * Participate in clinical supervision and provide supervision to junior staff and students. * Uphold workplace safety, quality standards, and organisational policies. * Engage effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and culturally diverse communities. Working with us * Eligible health practitioners entitled to accrue an additional three days professional development leave per annum, resulting in a total of six days professional development leave per annum. * Eligible health practitioners working in designated remote areas will be entitled to a professional development allowance of $3,512.00 per annum. * Rural and Remote incentive: Category D allowance of $431.22 p.f. * Transfer and appointment expenses may be negotiated. Requirements * Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences. * Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks. * This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A / B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis. * Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 requires Queensland Health to seek a 'working with children check; from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position. * A period of probation may apply.
