About the Role We are looking for a Senior Technical Writer to manage and develop our small but capable team, who are distributed globally. You will be responsible for creating technical documentation for TNA’s food processing and packaging solutions for both internal and external customers. TNA recognises the increasing importance that documentation provides to our customers and to our success. As a Senior Technical Writer, this is a great opportunity, not only to continue with our current core documentation systems but to assist TNA to develop further. TNA understands the importance of written manuals, but we are keen to investigate and adopt new initiatives through technology such as either on-line manuals or on-machine help, or deployment of machine translations. This position will be based in Sydney Olympic Park, Australia and will report to the Group Product Development Manager. Incidental travel may be required. Key Responsibilities: Your core responsibilities will be as follows: Gain a technical understanding of TNA equipment working closely with designers and service technicians so that you can produce product manuals and other technical documentation as required for operator and technical level audiences. Assist in document management, including language translation management ensuring consistency in content, format and presentation globally. Produce technical bulletins for innovations, upgrades and retrofit kits. Desired Skills and Experience Demonstrates excellent written English and strong interpersonal communication skills. Brings a minimum of eight years’ experience in a similar role or industry. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines across cross-functional teams. Experienced in leading, managing, and supporting a team of technical writers. Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. Proficient in authoring tools such as Help & Manual, Flare, DeepL, and other Artificial Intelligence (AI) platforms. Forward-thinking approach to leveraging new technologies (e.g., AI-assisted writing, automation tools). A reasonable understanding and interest of mechanical and electrical systems. Qualifications or relevant experience in either area will be highly regarded. Ability to create / work with graphics is desirable (Adobe or similar). Familiarity with the food and packaging industry is desirable. Knowledge of CE (European) compliance standards or similar is desirable. Exposure to 3D CAD systems is desirable.
