Permanent part time (24 Hours a week) Must be available on a rotating roster including weekends No late nights (5.30pm - 6.30pm finish) Located in Bright Essential Services Alpine Health are seeking a Food Service Specialist (Cook) to join our Essential Services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing healthy, nutritious meals to complement and support the health needs of patients and consumers, whilst also providing a diverse menu and meal options that meet the interests of Alpine Health’s consumers. About The Service; The food service is provided under a distributed service model with hot food production managed from the kitchen at Hawthorn Village, Bright and distributed under a cook-chill model to Myrtleford and Mount Beauty Hospitals. Alpine Health provides meals to patients within our three hospitals, aged care residents, Meals on Wheels recipients and Alpine Leisure Group participants. Alpine Health produces over 200,000 serves of food annually. Key Responsibilities: The Food Services Specialist maintains the following primary responsibilities: Compliance with Alpine Health’s Food Safety program. Production of diverse meal options that provides for consumer choice and meets nutritional and health need. Contributes to a productive and enjoyable work environment through positive work place behavior Service improvement to ensure the highest standards of food service. Who we are looking for; The Food Service Specialist (Cook) will have the following qualifications and experience. Certificate 3 level qualification in a discipline related to food and catering services Ability to work in a rotating roster across all shifts including weekdays, weekends and public holidays Basic computer skills Food handler’s certificate (can be obtained after commencement) Food service experience in rural communities Why you should join the Alpine Health Team We are a progressive and innovative Multi-Purpose Service with three sites in the Alpine Shire towns of Bright, Mount Beauty and Myrtleford.
