Your Role as an Environmental Health Officer As our Environmental Health Officer, your primary purpose will be to safeguard the public and environmental health of our community while actively working to improve these vital aspects. You will engage in regulatory functions and deliver impactful public health programs that ensure compliance with various legislative frameworks, including the Local Government Act and the Public Health Act. In this role, you will be at the forefront of community health initiatives, conducting investigations, addressing compliance issues, and raising awareness of environmental health regulations. Your efforts will contribute to a healthier and safer environment for all residents and visitors. Who we're looking for We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented professional who is passionate about making a difference in the community. If you are ready to embrace challenges and work collaboratively with various stakeholders, this position is for you! Bachelor's degree in Health Science (Environmental Health) or equivalent to the satisfaction of the Tasmanian Director of Public Health. Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and ability to make informed decisions. Attention to detail and ability to record and maintain accurate documentation. Well-developed negotiation, conflict resolution, communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to providing outstanding customer service and fostering a supportive team environment Essential to hold and continue to hold a current unencumbered Class C driver’s license. Your expertise will enable you to navigate complex assessments and foster positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that our community's health and safety are always prioritised.
