Bacchus Marsh Grammar is an independent, co-educational, non-denominational, Prep Reception to Year 12 school with three vibrant campuses in Melbourne’s west. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Education Support Officer (ESO) to join our Student Support Department. This position will work closely with teaching staff across the Maddingley and Woodlea Campuses. The role is ongoing and full time. Hours of work are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday. Salary will be negotiated with the preferred applicant based on relevant experience and current qualifications. The primary objective of the ESO is to support teaching staff in delivering high-quality education tailored to each student, in alignment with the School’s values and educational goals. The role includes routine classroom support tasks, usually undertaken under guidance and supervision. In addition, this position may involve supporting students with high needs, which can include assistance with learning, mobility, and day-to-day personal care. A caring, flexible and respectful approach will be essential in providing this support effectively and sensitively. Access to the Christmas shutdown/ School closure of which all Employees are granted leave over this period without deducted from their annual leave entitlements. This occurs from the Friday falling before the 21st of December of each year until the Monday following New Year’s Day, unless that Monday is a public holiday, in which case the School will remain closed until the next working day. Mid-term breaks (one day each term is allocated by the School at the Principal's discretion, and all Employees will be entitled to paid leave on this day). Salary Packaging. Professional Development. Key Selection Criteria The successful applicant will have: Qualification in Education Support. Working with Children Check (employment card). National Criminal Police Check. First Aid Certificate. Valid driver’s licence. Patient Manual Handling training. Demonstrated experience in undertaking routine support tasks across a range of functions in one or more areas within a similar position in a school environment. Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with colleagues and to communicate effectively with members of the school community including students. Ability to adapt to the needs in a classroom and prioritise tasks. Experience in using a wide range of strategies to cater for diverse student needs and backgrounds, including children with a disability. Experience and ability to work with students across varied year levels as required. Demonstrated experience in a similar position is desirable.
