Introduction Parade College is a member of the national body of Catholic schools known as Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA). Parade offers a multitude of curriculum options for students, whatever their interest may be; from academic, sporting, music, visual arts and trade options. The College is pleased to announce, our VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM) program at Parade College has become co-educational in 2025. The College welcomes full-time female student enrolments for the first time in our long history, into Year 11 in 2025. Starting in Term 1 2025, our VCE Vocational Major program, based at our Preston campus, has expanded our student offerings by introducing a new Tertiary Pathways Program. The Tertiary Pathways Program includes a second stream of our highly successful Sport Academy, along with a new Business Academy. Both academies provide a bespoke educational opportunity that allow students to gain direct entry into a number of undergraduate tertiary courses at La Trobe University upon completion of the two-year course. The professional environment for staff at Parade College emphasises innovation, the importance of lifelong learning and quality relationships between staff, students and the College community. Description The Dean(s) of Students report to, and work in close collaboration with, the Assistant Principal - Student Wellbeing who is responsible for the wellbeing of the students and the expectations of students at the College. Creating a strong foundation for learning, the Deans of Students support the Assistant Principal - Student Wellbeing in creating an environment where students feel safe and connected, are self-reflective and aspirational, and engaged and compassionate citizens. With a strong understanding of contemporary wellbeing practices including restorative practice, positive education and mindfulness, the Deans of Students will continually identify opportunities in which the young men of Parade College may be supported to reach their full potential and learn to contribute to the rapidly changing world with confidence, integrity and resilience. The position supports the Wellbeing Team which consists of the House Leaders at the Bundoora Campus and the Student Wellbeing Leaders at the Preston Campus. The Deans of Students directly manage the House and Student Wellbeing Leaders. The Deans of Students lead the Wellbeing Teams in implementing all aspects of the College Mission Statement and Development Plan concerned with student wellbeing and effective classroom management. The College is committed to helping all students to thrive in the most conducive learning environment and uses restorative practices in student management. Applications are invited for the Dean of Students position from suitably qualified, highly motivated and innovative leaders with excellent organisational skills and a passion for Catholic Education in the Edmund Rice Tradition and the safety and wellbeing of children. The successful candidate for this position will commence 27 January 2026. The leadership appointment is for a three year term, with an ongoing teaching position associated with this appointment. This leadership position attracts a generous Position of Leadership Allowance and time release per cycle.
