The key duties of the position include The Role The APS6 Data Analyst duties will include the following: Assist the Chief Data Scientist (CDS) in planning, managing, and prioritising tasks relating to data analysis; Collect, cleanse, manage, monitor and archive data from multiple sources; Extract, interrogate, and analyse complex data sets using a range of software (such as SQL, R, Python and other software); Perform advanced data analysis, including explorative analysis, descriptive analysis and statistical analysis; Conduct quality checks to ensure the integrity, accuracy and reliability of the data used to support decision making; Apply expertise in data visualisation tools (such as PowerBI, Power query, and/or Tableau) to develop and manage dashboards and views; Assist CDS in generating recurring data reports and provide accompanying analysis for the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Office; Support the CDS in responding to ad-hoc enquiries, including metrics for inclusion within Briefs etc; Effectively communicate data insights, findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in various written and verbal formats; Collaborate effectively with other technical and non-technical teams as required; Develop and maintain understanding of the Defence Force Recruiting (DFR) medical recruiting environment; Support development and management of documentation of CMO Office data assets; Display strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement and the ability to plan, manage, and prioritise tasks to ensure timely delivery of outputs; Understand and operate within legal and ethical use of data and complying with legislation, Defence policy and regulatory frameworks including data management requirements; Undertake additional negotiated tasks, as directed by CDS and CMO or CMO delegate that are consistent with the classification of the role and contribute to DFR objectives. About our Team The APS 6 Data Analyst role at Defence Force Recruiting Headquarters works within the Directorate of Recruiting Health Services (DRHS) of Defence Force Recruiting (DFR). They report to the Chief Data Scientist (CDS) and support the strategic and operational direction of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO). The DRHS team is comprised of ADF, APS and Contracted Professionals. The Data Analyst role supports the CDS and the CMO office by delivering analytical work including data advisory, analysis, management, and reporting. This work supports the broader ADF recruitment and capability objectives by providing accurate and timely data analysis and advice.
