Position overview The Cyber Security Analyst is a member of the Cyber Security Operations Centre who contributes to the implementation and administration of information security policies and procedures and ensures that information systems are maintained in accordance with security policies. The role is expected to provide technical expertise, analytics and perform testing on a wide range of systems and produce reports detailing findings; manage and response to cyber security incidents, provide security advice and technical subject matter expertise to a range of internal and external stakeholders; and develop custom tools in support of the team's mission. The key duties of the position include The responsibilities of the Cyber Security Analyst include, but are not limited to: Coordinate and manage the detection, response and analytics of cyber security incident monitoring and investigations Provide cyber security advice and guidance for applications and systems being implemented or managed to identify gaps in design and process. Utilise security information and event management tools for cyber incident monitoring and response, identity and access management tools and other security tooling to conduct analytics Verify that necessary security controls are in place and working through configuration, process improvement. Advise on cyber risk exposure and mitigation strategies to ensure stakeholders understand how the vulnerabilities can be resolved. Conduct network and web application penetration tests in an enterprise environment as required. Perform vulnerability scans, reviewing and prioritising findings. Regularly scan intelligence and reports on cyber security trends and issues to provide recommendations on impact to the Bureau. Undertake other tasks as directed Complying with all Bureau work, health and safety policies and procedures, and taking reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of employees, contractors and visitors who may be affected by your conduct.
