Description Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Key job responsibilities We are looking for a talented lawyer to join the Amazon Legal team supporting Amazon Leo. You will be embedded with the Amazon Leo's ground infrastructure services and operations teams (ground gateways, networking infrastructure) and will support the team contracting with field services providers, with a focus on deals in APAC. The successful candidate will develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways and build processes that address risk and allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quickly. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about technology, enjoys being continually challenged, and demonstrates sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. This position will be based in Sydney, Australia. Some travel, domestic and international, will be required. A day in the life You will structure, draft, and negotiate a range of agreements (e.g., agreements needed to construct and operate satellite gateways and agreements with field service providers), and counsel the business team on legal issues related to Amazon Leo's ground infrastructure and field services. Basic Qualifications - 5 years of legal experience - License to practice law in Europe, US or other common law jurisdiction Preferred Qualifications - Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work - Experience in transactional and technology licensing or equivalent - Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines Acknowledgement of country: In the spirit of reconciliation Amazon acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community.
