DIRECTORATE: Business, Growth & Community CLASSIFICATION: Grade H SALARY: $97,623 to $113,243 pa 12% employer contribution to superannuation REPORTING TO: Team Leader Communications & Engagement EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Permanent Full Time THE POSITION: The position will lead and assist the successful delivery of Council's corporate communications activities consistent with the Albury Community Strategic Plan. By delivering high quality, consistent and effective corporate communications across the organisation. Responsibilities KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise Key staff including; performance management, training and development, workflow coordination and developing a high level of morale and harmony. Support the development and implementation of communications marketing tactical plans for all campaigns, both on and off-line for AlburyCity services and facilities Manage the planning and implementation of specialist organisational projects and campaigns. Evaluate and report on communications and marketing activity against agreed objectives and KPIs Monitor budget allocations for specific communications and marketing campaigns and projects Contribute to operational and organisational strategy development and planning. Identify and establish processes to improve efficiencies and effectiveness in the delivery of AlburyCity's communications and marketing activity. Manage AlburyCity's brand to ensure the appropriate use of Council's visual identity across all on and off-line platforms, publications and communications marketing material. Manage the design and publication of all communications and marketing collateral, both on and offline. Participate on a broad range of project teams and provide qualified communications and brand advice. Plan communications and marketing campaigns to support local community engagement initiatives and raise public awareness of the project as required to support key community relations activities. Support the ongoing implementation of the Communications Strategy Perform other tasks or duties as directed by the Supervisor which are within the limits of the employee's skill, competence and training. Observe requirements of the WHS Legislation, relevant to the job and adhere to AlburyCity Policies and Procedures regarding WHS. Observe appropriate AlburyCity Policies and Procedures regarding day to day operations including Equal Employment Opportunity policies, AlburyCity's Dress Code and Standards Policy and AlburyCity's Code of Conduct. Qualifications KEY RELATIONSHIPS: Internal Our People External Our Community Designers External consultants Publication distributors Government agencies Other councils EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS: Based on a 35 hour week, with actual days and times being 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday, with an RDO in accordance with AlburyCity's RDO guidelines. This position may involve work outside normal working hours. Additional hours over the standard 35 hours will attract a time in lieu arrangement or payment of overtime rates as agreed in advance with your supervisor. On occasions there will be a requirement to attend meetings and events outside of normal business hours. This position does not require you to wear a compulsory uniform, however you must follow the dress code requirements within the AlburyCity’s Our People Dress Code Standards. Our People are required to present a smart and professional image to the public at all times including when in public and when working remotely. This position involves working in a predominantly indoor environment and using a computer is considered a core component of the role. There may be occasional visits to other work locations. The position requires an average level of aerobic and physical fitness to undertake occasional physical activities, such as walking and lifting, along with general manual handling tasks as part of a normal working environment. A medical declaration is required for this position. This position requires the employee to lodge an annual Pecuniary Interest Return. This position is delegated with certain powers, authorities, duties and functions of Council under the AlburyCity Delegations of Authority in accordance with section 378 of the Local Government Act. This position requires evidence of a current Australian National Police Check. This position is subject to alcohol and other drug testing. This position is located at the AlburyCity Administration Building, 553 Kiewa Street, Albury with occasional visits to external sites/depots as required. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA: Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or related field or equivalent work experience EXPERIENCE Experience working in a senior communications marketing role Local Government experience highly desirable SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Proven knowledge and experience in; Corporate communications and brand management Demonstrated experience in developing marketing strategies and campaigns Graphic and digital design skills (Adobe CS) Strong knowledge and experience in; Objective setting and ROI analytics High level creativity Project management skills Solid understanding of SEO, content marketing, database management and electronic direct mail systems
