Description Coordinator Tree Operations Reference number: 10879 Closing date: 11:00pm, Monday 17 November 2025 Full-time temporary position for 6 months. Salary commencing at $108,846.53 per annum, plus 12% superannuation, commensurate with skills and experience. Band 7. The Opportunity Moonee Valley City Council is seeking a motivated and experienced Coordinator Tree Operations to lead the delivery of arboricultural services across our city’s streets, parks, and reserves. This key leadership role oversees the planning, coordination, and delivery of all tree maintenance, planting, protection, and electric line clearance activities. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and contractors to ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality management of Council’s urban forest. Key Responsibilities Lead the coordination and delivery of all programmed and reactive tree maintenance, planting, and electric line clearance works. Manage internal arboricultural teams and external contractors to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient service delivery. Oversee resource allocation, scheduling, and quality assurance in line with Council policies and industry standards. Provide technical and operational guidance, mentoring, and support to supervisors and field staff. Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with OHS, environmental, and legislative requirements. Contribute to operational budgets, expenditure tracking, and performance reporting. Uphold Council’s values and commitment to safety, quality, and community service. Skills & Experience The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in arboriculture, supported by a Diploma of Arboriculture (or equivalent) and a recognised tree risk assessment qualification such as ISA TRAQ, QTRA, or VALID. You will have demonstrated experience leading arboricultural operations, including supervising internal crews and external contractors, and managing reactive and programmed works in line with Council or industry standards. A sound understanding of tree risk assessment, pruning practices, electric line clearance, and OHS legislation is essential, along with proficiency in using asset management systems such as Confirm. You will be an effective communicator and team leader who fosters a positive, safe, and accountable work culture while ensuring high-quality service delivery. A current Victorian Driver’s Licence is required, and an MR licence, EWP certification, or Certificate II in ESI Powerline Vegetation Control would be highly regarded.
