THE CLIENT Our client is a global leader in hydropower innovation and the awarded subcontractor delivering all specialist Electrical & Mechanical (E&M) and power generation scope on the iconic Snowy Hydro 2.0 project in New South Wales. With more than 150 years of expertise in energy, mobility and infrastructure, they are driving forward the next generation of renewable energy solutions across Australia and beyond. LOCATION & ROSTER Based in Cooma, NSW on the Snowy 2.0 project 1 week on (Mon–Fri) / 1 week from home roster THE ROLE We are seeking a highly experienced Contract Administrator to manage critical subcontract packages within their E&M scope on the Snowy 2.0 Project. In this pivotal role, you will take ownership of key subcontracts, applying a hands-on and detail-driven approach to ensure compliance, mitigate risk, and protect the commercial interests of the project. You will also provide leadership and guidance to Contract Administrators, advising on the interpretation and application of both upstream and downstream contracts, while actively managing claims, variations, payments, and dispute resolution. Working closely with Voith’s Procurement, Commercial, Logistics and Site Delivery teams (onshore and onsite), this position requires a commercially astute professional who thrives in complex project environments and can balance legal precision with pragmatic commercial solutions. The role reports directly to the Procurement & Contract Admin Lead (Onshore) and works collaboratively with the Contract Manager and Commercial & Contracts Lead to deliver best practice outcomes in contract management. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Manage key secondary subcontracts, including correspondence, variations, claims, payments, reporting, and meetings Lead by example in subcontract management, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations Interpret and apply head contract terms, providing consistent guidance across the team Support upstream contract management, drafting and reviewing notices, claims, and variations Advise on contractual and commercial strategies to maximise cost recovery and mitigate risk Develop, prepare and close out subcontractor tender packages, including negotiation and award Prepare, review and finalise subcontractor agreements in collaboration with commercial/legal representatives Administer subcontractor claims, extensions of time, and dispute resolution processes Prepare reports, forecasts and cost analyses for internal and external stakeholders Maintain registers of contracts, variations, delays and extensions of time Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and project stakeholders ABOUT YOU 10 years’ experience in Contract Administration/Contract Management on large-scale infrastructure projects Degree qualified in Finance, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Law or a related field Extensive background in subcontract management, tendering, claims and dispute resolution Proven ability to lead negotiations and achieve commercial outcomes Strong financial management skills with a record of reducing costs and meeting budgets Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and leadership abilities Proficiency in SAP highly desirable PROJECT INFORMATION Snowy 2.0 is the next generation of the iconic Snowy Mountains Hydroelectric Scheme. Once complete, the project will deliver 2,000 MW of dispatchable renewable power and 350,000 MWh of large-scale storage , playing a vital role in Australia’s clean energy transition.
