Description We currently have an opportunity for an Area Manager to join our team, with relevant construction background. This position will support the Riverina Redevelopment Joint Venture (RRJV), which is a 50/50 joint venture between Downer and CPB Contractors to undertake major upgrades and replacement of existing infrastructure and facilities. We are seeking candidates to be part of our team on the redevelopment project, covering the Albury Wodonga Military Area, Blamey Barracks (Kapooka) and the RAAF Base Wagga. This is a site-based role for the RAAF Base Wagga area, with relocation packages being offered. What you’ll do The role has a broad remit, with key responsibilities outlined below: Planning, maintaining, coordinating and monitoring construction programs and completion of activities involved in Project/s, and communicating on same with relevant stakeholders. Organising, designing and implementing temporary works and infrastructure, as required. Preparing work packages, documentation and quality requirements for tender by potential subcontractors. Evaluating subcontractors to ensure capacity and capability to carry out the work. Seeking the most efficient techniques, methods and materials. Informing the Project Manager on any significant SH&E, quality or other difficulties which will impact Project delivery or community relations and taking appropriate action to rectify. What you’ll bring Hold or able to obtain a Government Security Clearance (must have) Either a recognised degree in engineering discipline recognised OR other relevant tertiary qualification (TAFE or similar). Member of Institution of Engineers Australia (IEAust)or graduate member of the Institute of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ) desirable. Previous experience as an SPE or equivalent. Experience developing methodologies to ensure compliance with SWTC (within area) Demonstrated commercial experience relating to planning up to 3 months ahead, development of implementation of risk treatment plans and reporting on cost, risk etc. More than anything, you’ll bring a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes for our clients.
