What we do We regulate providers that deliver VET qualifications and courses to students in Australia or offer Australian qualifications internationally, providers that deliver VET courses to overseas students, and certain providers that deliver English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students. The key duties of the position include About the Opportunity We are seeking a Compliance Officer to analyse regulatory matters and apply appropriate compliance methodologies effectively to escalate significant or ongoing non-compliance for a proportionate regulatory response. Key responsibilities include: undertaking a varied range of regulatory activities (including performance assessments) of providers both on site and virtually apply sound judgement and expertise to accurately research, interpret and apply legislation, information, and advice to inform findings and decision making considering matters referred to the Compliance Management team to determine the most appropriate treatment clearly communicating with the provider and providing them with the opportunity to ask questions about ASQA's decisions in a way that supports the provider to understand what is required positively representing ASQA through day-to-day relationships with providers, that are based on a foundation of mutual respect and focussed on delivering the most effective outcome for the regulatory activity actively engaging with their team and ASQA more broadly to determine improvements in practice and formulate solutions in line with ASQA's regulatory approach and focus on continuous improvement ensuring effective records management is maintained and up to date in line with all the relevant requirements. Skills and experience To succeed in this role, you will have: an understanding of regulatory frameworks and the principles of effective regulation, and application of resources to manage risk and make clear, well-reasoned and timely recommendations in a fast-paced and changing environment strong communication skills with experience in preparing high quality reports, reasoning statements or other regulatory materials strong analytical and problem-solving skills to support well- reasoned recommendations based on evidence strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated negotiation, conflict resolution and engagement skills with internal and external stakeholders demonstrated commitment in applying self and supporting team members with effective outcomes, understanding the agency wide priorities and key risks.
