The Melbourne office is an integral part of the national network and works closely with teams in other capital cities on complex disputes, including commercial, corporate, construction, property and workplace related. About the position: Due to sustained growth, our client is looking for an Associate or Senior Associate level lawyer with experience in commercial litigation to join the Melbourne disputes team. You will manage a diverse litigation and dispute resolution practice, including General commercial contract and business disputes Corporations Act, shareholder and partnership disputes Insurance related commercial disputes and indemnity issues Property, leasing and landlord or tenant disputes Construction and infrastructure related claims Regulatory investigations and enforcement matters, and related administrative law issues You will have carriage of your own files with partner support, work closely with clients ranging from listed companies and insurers through to government bodies and private businesses, and appear in mediations, conferences and court when appropriate. This role would suit a commercially minded litigator who enjoys strategy, written advocacy and negotiating pragmatic outcomes, while also being comfortable running contested hearings where required. Key Requirements: Admission as a Solicitor in Victoria and current practising certificate Solid experience in commercial litigation or dispute resolution (5 years PQE), ideally gained in a reputable commercial law firm or similar environment Strong drafting skills, including pleadings, advice, evidence and correspondence Confidence managing your own matters with appropriate supervision Ability to build strong relationships with sophisticated commercial clients Organised, with good file management and attention to detail Apply Today Apply now or email your resume to Janine Cloete (Legal – VIC & SA) at janine@gorillajobs.com.au to hear more about the opportunity.
