In supporting the Bureau to deliver impactful weather, climate, ocean and water information services, the research contributes to advancing meteorological and earth system sciences in Australia and globally. Research activities cover the broad fields of weather, climate, oceanography, earth systems modelling, data set development, process studies, and application development. These roles sit within the Seamless Prediction Science Section of the Bureau's Research Program but is primarily focused on delivering Bureau contributions to the Australian Climate Service (ACS) and the National Climate Risk Assessment. ACS helps emergency management and federal and state government customers to better understand the threats posed by a changing climate and natural hazards, to limit the impacts now and in the future.
