The Opportunity Premcar is currently seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join the team. The primary responsibility of the CFO is to drive financial strategy, policies, procedures and a financial controls framework to ensure the achievement of Premcar’s financial objectives. The CFO will ensure internal controls are effectively in place and functional, and ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations. Reporting directly into the Directors of Premcar, the CFO will lead our Finance & Commercial functions including Accounting and General Ledger, Financial/Management/Regulatory reporting, Forecast and Budgeting, Costings, Payroll, Accounts Payable and Receivable, Annual/periodic audits facilitations, Taxation, Finance systems, Grants/Funds management and Treasury. The CFO provides strategic recommendations on enhancing the sustainability, compliance, effectiveness and efficiency of the business; identifies and scopes new revenue opportunities; and reviews systems and processes to ensure intelligent, timely, accurate financial data and reporting to power management decisions. The Candidate We are looking for a proactive and pragmatic individual who is willing to get into the detail, enjoys process and function optimisation, and champions continuous improvement. This role will not suit candidates who only have experience in large corporate organisations. Individual characteristics Customer service attitude Teamwork and Team Leadership Decision Making and Problem Solving Strategic thinking Agility, initiative and optimisation mindset Balanced risk management Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills A passion for automotive and automotive manufacturing is desirable Key Result Areas Financial Strategy Financial compliance and risk management Costings and Proposals Budget Management Cash flow/ Investments/Treasury Audit, Tax, Insurances Stakeholder management and leadership General responsibilities Education, Skills and Experience Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or economics Proven and substantial experience in financial leadership in private SME Membership of either Certified Practicing Accountants or Chartered Accountants Societies Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting standards Outstanding business and financial acumen and understanding of business operations Excellent stakeholder communication skills (including stakeholders without a financial background) and ability to build solid partnerships Demonstrated competence at both strategic and operational levels Experience in building and modernising finance functions Proficiency in the use and incorporation of financial technology in processes, risk assessment and the identification of anomalies Previous experience with business units outside of Australia would be highly regarded To apply, please submit a short cover letter and resume.
