We are seeking an innovative and commercially minded CFO to join Good Cycles at this exciting time. This position will reward someone who brings a progressive approach to the role, applying data informed decision making to make bold plans and energise the team around them. The CFO reports to the CEO, with accountability to the FARM and Board. You'll work alongside the Senior Leadership Team to deliver on Good Cycles’ strategy and business plan, providing timely financial reporting whilst leading best‑practice finance and risk operations. As well as the standard duties of a CFO, this role also will lead the IT and Risk & Compliance teams with 4‑6 direct reports. Remuneration is $160,000 per annum, plus superannuation and salary packaging. Good Cycles is an independent not‑for‑profit that empowers young people by creating a safe and inclusive workplace, offering employment across our four commercial divisions: Good Spaces: Gardening and large scale land maintenance services. Good Deliveries: Specialist inner‑city delivery, logistics and sustainability services delivered via e‑bikes. Good Bikes: Bike retail and tailored micro‑mobility services. Good People: Specialist managed workforce partnerships (labour‑hire) with values‑aligned partners. We are a growing organisation with 140 staff and $10million annual turnover. Our profits go towards supporting young people who face barriers to employment through our Youth Employment Program and by creating jobs of the future that deliver sustainable social outcomes. Your responsibilities: Organisational Strategy & Growth: Shape the strategy, business planning, and commercial direction. Financial Forecasting & Analysis: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling with data‑led decision‑making to drive strategic objectives. Finance Operations & Compliance: Oversee financial reporting, accounts management, payroll, treasury, cashflow, and regulatory compliance (ATO, ACNC, insurance). Finance Team Leadership: Build and lead a high‑performing finance team to deliver excellence across all finance functions. Governance, Risk & Infrastructure: Establish operating models, risk frameworks, and IT oversight that enable organisational performance and continuous improvement. Commercial Partnerships & Growth Opportunities: Work collaboratively with General Managers on contract strategy, commercial relationships, and evaluation of growth opportunities (including potential partnerships and acquisitions) that align with our values. You will need: 5 years experience in executive/senior leadership of finance and commercial functions. Relevant finance/accounting qualifications (ideally CA/CPA); additional qualifications in related areas such as business administration, law or management would be favourably viewed. Proven track record in financial leadership and commercial strategy including contract negotiation and implementation. Experience in leading organisational governance, continuous improvement and system/process transformation. Experience in the implementation of frameworks and policies for managing risk; and the ability to manage risk with a forward‑thinking approach to growth and efficiency. Strong analytical and data‑driven mindset that translates into performance metrics and organisational leadership. Proven ability to work productively as part of a multidisciplinary executive team and strong alignment with Good Cycles’ social purpose.
