TAHINA offers customers vegetarian Middle Eastern food with a gourmet twist. About the Role: The applicant's main responsibility will be to prepare and serve high quality meals for the restaurant patrons. Taste, hygiene and nutrition will be the highest priorities. The suitable applicant will be expected to accommodate a variety of dietary and cultural needs. We are looking for a chef for day and evening shifts, including weekends. Shifts can be flexible. The applicant must have at least 2 years' prior chef experience and hold a Cert III/IV Commercial Cookery or equivalent. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Be able to prepare and cook food on the menu Ability to plan special menus fortnightly Ensuring and monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation Ensuring high quality food standards are met in accordance from the Directors Maximizing productivity from staff, while supporting and motivating them to improve skill sets Overseeing the induction and training of kitchen staff to ensure they can consistently deliver the expected standards Ensure food safety program is up-to-date Discussing food preparation with staff before service begins Sound knowledge and ability to adhere to hygiene regulations Uphold high standards of cleaning procedures which is in line with OH&S standards, Hygiene and sanitation Candidates must be able to work in a team environment. We are looking for someone with a bright personality and enjoy what they do! Remuneration between $70,000 - $80,000 plus super will be offered to the successful candidate based on skill and experience.
