Business Analyst - Regulatory Reform - Contract Location: Melbourne (2 days in office) Duration: 10 months with extensions Rate: $900-950 per day including super Start date: ASAP (urgent) Working rights: must be an Australian permanent resident or Australian Citizen About Our client is seeking an experienced Business Analyst / Program Analyst to support a major regulatory reform program. This role is pivotal in ensuring the organisation fully understands, interprets and implements incoming regulatory obligations. Working across Legal, Compliance, Risk, Change, and other business units, the successful candidate will play a key role in translating regulatory reforms into clear business, process, technology, and operational impacts. This is a high-visibility role suited to someone who thrives in structured analysis, cross-functional collaboration and delivering clarity in complex regulatory environments. Key Responsibilities: Create end-to-end traceability between regulatory reforms and the organisation's responses (Process, People, Technology). Provide assurance that each regulatory reform and rule has been fully addressed and implemented. Lead and structure Business Impact Assessments (BIA), ensuring impacts are clearly understood across all business areas. Partner with Legal and Compliance Advisory teams to resolve all business queries related to regulatory interpretation. Work closely with Risk Advisory to ensure risks are correctly aligned to reforms and that effective treatment plans are developed. Scope, assess, and prioritise incoming work streams linked to regulatory changes. Provide assurance across Features, Epics, and User Stories during execution and implementation phases. Collaborate with Change Managers to ensure smooth delivery and business readiness. Required Experience Proven experience as a Business Analyst or Program Analyst within regulatory, compliance or risk-related programs. Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, obligations and governance processes. Demonstrated ability to create and maintain end-to-end traceability for reforms and requirements. Experience facilitating Business Impact Assessments and managing cross-functional stakeholder groups. Ability to work effectively with Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Technology teams. Skilled in requirements gathering, documentation, prioritisation and delivery assurance. Experience working within change programs, ideally across large or complex organisations.
