Employer: Salalbree Bricklaying Pty Ltd Location: East Kurrajong, NSW Employment Type: Full-time Hours: 38 hours per week Salary: $75,000 – $80,000 per annum plus super Our Client Salalbree Bricklaying Pty Ltd is seeking a qualified and experienced Bricklayer to join their team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing and repairing walls, partitions, arches, and other structures using bricks, blocks, and related materials across residential and commercial building projects. Key Responsibilities Interpreting building plans and specifications to determine required materials, measurements, and installation methods Erecting and dismantling restricted-height scaffolding in accordance with safety standards Preparing foundations by applying damp-proofing materials and spreading mortar to create a stable base for brick and block work Laying bricks in specified rows, patterns, shapes, and spreading mortar evenly between joints Positioning and embedding blocks into mortar, ensuring proper bonding and removing excess material Checking all work for accurate vertical and horizontal alignment using appropriate tools Cutting, shaping, or polishing bricks and stones using hand tools and machinery, including adjusting materials to fit irregular spaces Repairing, restoring, and maintaining brickwork, cement block structures, and similar masonry elements Designing, cutting, and shaping stone or masonry materials, including basic monumental masonry and lettering Constructing walls and structures using stone slabs, large masonry blocks, and other relevant materials Requirements Minimum 1–2 years' relevant experience in bricklaying or masonry work Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong understanding of bricklaying techniques and Australian construction practices Good physical fitness to handle manual labour and outdoor working conditions AQF Certificate III in Bricklaying/Blocklaying including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV in a relevant field
