If you are an employment lawyer with any of the following skills and are either a seasoned consultant/contract lawyer looking for a fresh approach in 2026, or a lawyer thinking of taking the leap to flex-working, get in touch with our Talent Manager, Fiona Craig, to find out more. Skills and Experience needed: You have specialist expertise in employment law across a broad range of issues including any or all of the following: employee relations, employment litigation and investigations; employment advisory and compliance (including discrimination, privacy and safety laws); collective bargaining and IR; and corporate transactions and restructurings You are familiar with safety law including disciplinary issues, termination of employment, complex staff complaints, industrial disputes, enterprise bargaining and grievance handling You have prior experience and exposure dealing with large scale complex remediation projects and/or payroll remediation and compliance programs You are experienced in advising on compliance with Work Health Safety laws and anti-discrimination matters You are experienced dealing with employment regulators including the Fair Work Ombudsman and IR Commission. You have the ability to monitor legislative changes and industry best practices, recommending updates to policies and procedures You have experience managing complex employment law matters in large organisations and have the ability to influence, negotiate and simplify complex legal matters You are comfortable liaising with multiple internal stakeholders and teams You have the ability to manage external facing issues You have a minimum of 5 years' experience You have the ability to hit the ground running, work autonomously and prioritise As well as excellent legal experience you will need: The right to live and work in Australia (and be based here) and hold or be able to obtain a current practising certificate Willingness to engage with Ashurst via an Incorporated Legal Practice or casual employment Ashurst Reach: Ashurst Reach is the firm's dedicated flexible legal resourcing platform which provides the firm's clients and Practice Groups within the firm with access to a high quality talent pool of lawyers and paralegals.
