Date Posted: 17/11/2025 Agricultural & Agritech Technician Company: RecruitUp Global Location: Banana Queensland 4702 Job Type: Full-time Permanent Position Salary: $85,000 - $100,000 (Annually) About the Role Our client is seeking an experienced - Agricultural & Agritech Technician to support crop production, farm machinery operations, agronomic data collection, and on-farm technology systems used across broadacre farming operations in Central Queensland. This position provides technical support to farm managers by integrating agricultural science, machinery capability, and precision agriculture systems to optimise crop performance and sustainability outcomes. Key Responsibilities 1. Agricultural Technology & Data Systems Operate and calibrate GPS-guided planting, spraying, and harvesting equipment. Collect, record, and analyse agronomic data (soil, crop, and yield metrics) using digital tools. Support precision agriculture programs and assist in implementing data-driven fertiliser and irrigation strategies. Maintain records and contribute to farm data mapping for continuous improvement. 2. Machinery Operation and Maintenance Operate large-scale agricultural machinery including John Deere tractors (8320R, 9530, 9620RX, 9650), S780 combines, and 4830/4045 sprayers. Perform preventative maintenance, mechanical repairs, welding, and fabrication on implements and heavy equipment. Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults to minimise downtime. Support machinery logistics including grain transport, semi-truck operation, and equipment relocation. 3. Crop and Production Support Assist with all stages of crop production including field preparation, planting, fertilising, spraying, irrigation, and harvesting. Monitor crop performance, soil moisture, and environmental conditions to optimise yield outcomes. Apply agritech principles to reduce waste and improve sustainability of inputs. 4. Livestock and Farm Infrastructure Perform livestock handling and feeding operations where required (ear tagging, banding, health monitoring). Maintain fencing, water systems, and feedlot infrastructure. Ensure biosecurity, animal welfare, and safety compliance standards are upheld. 5. Health, Safety, and Teamwork Promote a strong safety culture through daily pre-start checks and risk assessments. Collaborate effectively with farm managers and seasonal staff, mentoring others on best practices in machine operation and technology use. Uphold company values of dedication, honesty, and teamwork in all operations. 6. Qualifications (Preferred) Certificate III or IV in Agriculture, Agritech, Agronomy, Agricultural Mechanical Systems, or equivalent experience. Chemical Handling Certificate (ACUP or AQF3 Chem Use) or willingness to obtain. HR/MR Truck licence highly regarded. Annual Salary - $85k - $100k
