The opportunity We’re seeking an Accountant, Member Accounting and Banking to join our Financial Operations team within Corporate Services. In this vital role, you’ll maintain accurate financial records, analyse financial data, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. You’ll work closely with your team to uphold strong governance, risk management, and robust internal controls. Key responsibilities include: Preparing daily bank reconciliations for all fund accounts Processing member-related cash receipts, payments, and refunds Managing queries in the shared team mailbox and liaising with the main bank Performing daily reconciliations of cash receipts against bank statements Managing unreconciled bank receipts and member payment returns Monitoring daily cashflows and preparing sweep transfers between UniSuper accounts Preparing daily and month-end reconciliations of cash and member clearing accounts Maintaining and updating process documentation Continuously reviewing and improving processes for efficiency and control Supporting automation and reporting projects, ensuring legislative compliance Providing cross-training and backup support to team members Assisting with end-of-month, end-of-year, and statutory reporting Undertaking ad hoc duties as directed About you Experience in daily banking and accounting operations (financial services industry preferred) Alternatively, experience in member operations with strong knowledge of superannuation and administration systems Strong organisational skills, able to work autonomously and manage competing priorities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Detail-oriented with the ability to see the big picture Strong investigation and problem-solving skills Advanced numerical and reconciliation skills Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders Qualified or part-qualified Accountant preferred, but not essential What US offer We take a long-term outlook and will invest in our employee's development and training with a personal development plan and yearly funding to support your career goals, as well as these amazing benefits: A personal development budget of $1500 to support employees in their professional growth Performance incentive program Mental, physical and financial well-being initiatives 3 days over Christmas and 3 days 'Community and Culture' leave allowing you to celebrate and contribute to things that are important to you outside of work Flexible superannuation – choose up to 17% 20 weeks fully paid Parental Leave We're passionate about knowledge and sharing it amongst our members and our employees so believe 60% in office is the best way to collaborate and build relationships with your colleagues whilst offering flexibility If you feel you have the experience and skills required for this role, please apply!
