About the work unit / facility The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Wellbeing Assessment Engagement Services (WAES) is part of the Community Forensic Mental Health Service within the Mental Health Service Group. Our team delivers culturally safe and responsive mental health care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients, ensuring holistic support and advocacy in collaboration with families, carers, and community organisations. Competitive salary and benefits * Salary between $2878.20 - $3958.00 per fortnight (HWF3). * 4 to 6 weeks p.a. recreational leave with 14-17.5% loading. * Generous employer contribution to superannuation of 12.75%. About your opportunity As an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker, you will provide cultural guidance and advocacy, support assessment and treatment planning, and strengthen connections between mental health services and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. You will contribute to culturally safe care and education across the Mental Health Service Group. Requirements * Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, this is an Identified position requiring Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage. * Appointment, and future increment progression, between pay points HWF3.1 to HWF3.5 requires: * Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health. * Appointment, and future increment progression, between pay points HWF3.2 to HWF3.7, or HWF3.8 (limited to employees who meet the requirements of HED 04/23) requires: * Diploma of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care. * Current C class driver's licence. * Evidence of vaccination for VPD risk roles. * A probationary period may apply.
