About the work unit / facility The Cultural Assessment & Liaison Team (CALT) within the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Wellbeing Assessment Engagement Services (ATSI WAES) program delivers culturally safe mental health care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, adolescents, and young adults. Based at Townsville University Hospital, the team works closely with community organisations to support social and emotional wellbeing. Competitive salary and benefits * Salary between $2696.00 - $2855.60 per fortnight (HWF2). * 4 to 6 weeks p.a. recreational leave with 14-17.5% loading. * Generous employer contribution to superannuation of 12.75%. About your opportunity As an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker Generalist, you will provide cultural guidance, advocacy, and support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients accessing Child and Youth Mental Health Services. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and community organisations to promote culturally safe care and wellbeing. Requirements * Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, this is an Identified position requiring Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage. * * Appointment, and future increment progression, between pay points HWF2.1 to HWF2.3 requires: * Certificate III in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health, or * Certificate III in Mental Health Peer Work, or * Certificate III in Mental Health, or * Certificate III in Alcohol and other Drugs. * Note: A suitable applicant that does not hold the Cert III qualification may be appointed to a trainee level HWF1 for a fixed term (temporary), subject to engaging and participating in a learning agreement to obtain the required qualification with support under HR Policy G10 Study and Research Assistance Scheme (SARAS). Upon completion of your qualification, you will be progressed to a Permanent HWF2 * Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check). * Current C Class Driver's Licence. * Evidence of vaccination or immunity for VPDs as per Queensland Health policy. * A probationary period may apply.
