Relative Visas for Kiwis in Australia
Relative visas may be issued if you are elderly and financially dependent on a family member who is an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or if your only remaining family lives in Australia. To obtain a relative visa, your family member will need to sponsor you, and relative visas in Australia are “capped” at a certain number every year (for all applicants, not just Kiwis), which means that your application may not be accepted or processed for years at a time.
There are different subclasses to relative visas and we advise you to contact a Registered Migration Agent.
