Pensions & Superannuation – Retirement in Australia

So, you’re in Australia and you’re in the process of aging gracefully and maybe even thinking about retiring – congratulations! After years of hard work, it’s time to put your feet up a little. But what does it mean for you now that you’ve been in Australia for a few years, and spent time working in both New Zealand and Australia?

Most of this information has to do with your residency status in Australia and New Zealand, what kind of visa you have, and your personal circumstances. For a better understanding of your residency and visa status in Australia, check out our info page on VISAS AND RESIDENCY.

Just keep in mind – we’re not the government and this is only general advice. Please contact the Department of Work and Income (NZ) or the Department of Human Services (Aus) if there’s anything here that isn’t covered or doesn’t apply to you. In some cases, it can also be helpful to consult a financial planner/consultant for advice specific to your situation.
