Modern Māori Quartet are hitting Australian shores for three shows only this June after releasing their debut single ‘Shine’.
Shine is a song that celebrates children.
It is a father’s message to his child, encouraging her to dream big and pursue any path her heart desires.
This song is for “all the kids in the world” and reminds them that they can achieve whatever they set their minds to, so long as they have the support and love of their parents and wider family.
Shine has a strong, comfortable feel that is clear and joyful, which we believe represents us truthfully.
It feels right that this song should be our first voice in the world.

A fresh take on classic Māori showbands, the Modern Māori Quartet are a good looking, suave and multi-talented Māori foursome who love crooning their spin on modern and classic numbers.
Hailing from different corners of Aotearoa, the Modern Māori Quartet will make their Australian premiere at the Queensland Cabaret Festival 2017, showcasing hearty renditions of classic party hits as well as original waiata (songs) off their debut album, That’s Us!
Filled with Māori harmonies, banter, humour and charm, the show promises a trip down memory lane into Aotearoa New Zealand’s musical past and present, at the flash-est garage party you’ve ever been to.
Don’t miss out on your chance to see MMQ at one of their shows.
