Income protection insurance gives you a monthly income based on a percentage of your salary, if you’re unable to work due to illness or injury and satisfy the conditions for a total disability benefit or a partial disability benefit.

This can be most important for New Zealanders that move to Australia. NZRelo has 1.7 million kiwis on our FB pages and for years we have watched our members move here to Australia, fall on hard times, whether it be difficulty finding employment, hurting themselves, becoming ill or being in accidents that cause disabilities. All of those circumstances can result in our members asking for food handouts, places to stay or sleep, assistance for kids and so on.

Many of our members have no option but to setup GoFundMe campaigns to raise money to go back to New Zealand where they will get the help they need to get back on their feet.

Members ask for this help because either they or their children are not permanent residents of Australia. If you are not a permanent resident there is little or no help from the Australian Government. Our partner, WA Super, does offer protection so that you are covered for loss of income due to illness, injury or accident*. It’s called income protection insurance cover and it is offered as part of your membership with WA Super.
