Job Description Snowflake Engineer – Data Platform & Azure About the client: Our client is a leading organisation driving innovation in enterprise data platforms. This role is pivotal in enabling secure, scalable, and high-performance data solutions using Snowflake and Azure cloud services. About the role: We are seeking a skilled Snowflake Engineer to join a dynamic data platform team. You’ll design, integrate, and optimise data pipelines and architectures, ensuring robust security and efficient access across advanced analytics platforms. Key Responsibilities: • Collaborate with solution architects to integrate Snowflake with Azure cloud data platforms. • Develop and maintain data pipelines and ingestion frameworks using Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and Blob Storage. • Contribute to detailed data platform architecture and ensure alignment with enterprise strategy and security. • Implement and manage RBAC and fine-grained access controls in Snowflake. • Design and enforce data classification-based access policies for secure data consumption. • Optimise Snowflake queries and storage for performance and cost-efficiency. • Monitor and troubleshoot data platform performance issues. • Work closely with data analysts, scientists, and business stakeholders to enable secure, efficient data access. • Document technical designs, access control policies, and operational procedures. Required Experience: • 5 years in data engineering or cloud data platform roles. • Hands-on expertise with Snowflake (schema design, query optimisation, access control). • Strong experience with Azure cloud services (integration, storage). • Deep understanding of RBAC, data classification, and security best practices. • Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages (Python a plus). • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Azure DevOps) is advantageous. • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
