HR Business Partner

About the organisation Our client is a well-established, privately owned mining services company who specialise in providing facilities, property and asset management services to the mining and oil & gas sector throughout Australia. The company has experienced impressive growth in the past 18 months through the guidance and experience of a tight knit senior leadership team. In line with the company's desire for continued expansion, and supporting business leaders in operational HR delivery, the newly-created role of HR Business Partner now exists.

About the role Reporting into the General Manager Operations, you will be responsible for all facets of operational HR including leading incident investigations, site-based risk assessments and toolbox talks, developing and delivering safety training to staff onsite, as well as auditing. You will be involved in the day to day hands on HR work, supporting leaders taking carriage of all tasks from sourcing and recruitment through to performance, engagement, training compliance, and ad-hoc people related requests and projects as required. You will work across the business, building relationships with all levels and providing practical, 'fit for business' HR solutions and advice, under the direction of the leadership team.

Alongside the generalist day to day delivery, initially the role will have a key focus across three key areas: Performance, Engagement and Wellbeing Act as the point of contact and support to leaders for all performance matters; In consultation with managers, lead on any investigations and take carriage of these processes; Proactively develop and implement engagement initiatives; and Proactively develop and implement wellbeing initiatives and programs across the business. Return to work and case management In consultation with managers, lead on any Return to Work coordination; Work with the leadership group to put in place pro-active measures to minimise workplace injuries; and Support leaders to build a culture of accountability to safety and wellbeing. Compliance training coordination Lead the coordination and execution of mandatory compliance-based training; Work with leaders to ensure oversight of training requirements; and Manage the systems to support the tracking of training and reporting.

This role is critical in supporting leaders to engage their teams and deliver successful business outcomes. Who are we looking for? To be considered for this role you will possess HR or business qualifications, or substantial relevant experience, with a strong background in hands on, operational HR. You will have the ability to work autonomously, supporting leaders to deliver on strategy to ensure business outcomes and optimal employee engagement and wellbeing.
