Workshop Supervisor Our NSW based client who is renowned for its site maintenance fabrication and project management services is requiring an established Boilermaker - Welder to take on a workshop Supervisor role based at their Muswellbrook workshop. After recently been awarded maintenance contracts with some of the country's largest mining organisations, the demand for skilled and hardworking serviceman has never been higher. The workshop itself is a state of the art facility with all the appropriate resources and tools to ensure you complete daily tasks sufficiently and safely.
The oppurtunity The opportunity will see you joining a leading an established fabrication workshop in the NSW mining space. The core focus will be around repairs and maintenance on array of equipment including hoppers, chutes, buckets and trays etc.with ensuring the equipment is repaired and maintained to a suitable standard, you will be required to work within the organisations 5 lean manufacturing principals and apply appropriate practices when required.
The role itself will report directly into the operations manager. Where you will be supervising a crew of tradesman on a daily basis along with an assortment of both fixed and mobile gear relating to the mining sector. This high pressure role will acquire a versatile skill set along with an in-depth understanding of both Boiler making welding codes and practices.
Day to day tasks will include Coordinating and scheduling workshop duties Fault find, diagnose and advise on repairs accordingly. Work within AS/NZS 1554.7 welding standards and make sure welds are performed appropriately.
Work in a high pressure team environment ensuring gear is complete and ready for dispatch to site. Evaluate health and safety protocols and ensure workshop staff are aware of any changes or alterations that are made. Conduct regular PSI and pre start meetings with daily goals and objectives to be outlined and achieved.
Liaise with ops manage and provide productivity reports and performance updates when required. Adding to the above you will be required to oversee apprenticeship programmes and ensure skills are developed and clients standards are upheld. Is this for you ? Along with having sufficient BMW experience you will need to obtain the below credentials Relevant trade background (fitter or boilermaker) equivalent Have an established leadership background within the mining space Be a team player and assist on the tools when required Ability to work in both a fixed and mobile plant capacity Experience in heavy fabrication with an understanding of equipment and it's utilisation.
