We are looking for an experienced head chef for our client in Canberra, ACT. The position is full time and permanent. In this hands on role, the chosen candidate must: - Ensure food preparation and quality is of the highest standard possible - Manage stock levels and follow company procedures and recipe guide lines - Ensure hygiene is maintained to the required standards - Maintain a clean and organised kitchen during and after service - Manage the kitchen operations including cost control and ensuring budgeted profit and targets are met - Able to manage staff and work harmoniously with the rest of the brigade and the owners To be successful for this role you will possess the following: - Minimum of 10 years post qualification experience in high quality modern cuisine - Appropriate trade qualifications - Experience in fast paced, service and quality focused upmarket venues - Guest orientated and passionate about food - Sound knowledge of food hygiene practices - The ability to work well under pressure with an eye for detail - Excellent management and communication skills - Happy to work split shifts - Possess a positive attitude and work well as a part of the team The salary ($60K-$75K) is negotiable depending on the experience You must have full work rights to apply for this position and must be able to start ASAP.
