EL1 Assistant Director
A Federal Government Department are seeking numerous EL1 Assistant Directors. Located in Parkes. Client Details The Federal Department ensures the protection of matters of national environmental significance through its regulatory responsibilities under the Australian Government's central piece of environmental legislation.
Over the next 6 to 12 months, key priorities for the section include: Implementation of the recommendations and findings of a recent audit of referrals, assessments and approvals, including: preparation of new Quality Assurance Framework for the division preparation of a new quality control process for approval conditions development of new performance and efficiency measures for the division's work aligning the approach to assessments with risks to the environment Establishing a new evaluation and audit function within the division to provide assurance of consistency and legal robustness of decision making. Secretariat support to a new Deputy Secretary Steering Committee which will oversee implementation of the audit recommendations and quarterly reporting to the Secretary and Minister. Managing updates and quality control of environmental assessment templates.
Developing and managing change management processes for the division. Several positions are available at the EL1 level. Some of the duties across the positions include but are not limited to: leading a small team to implement recommendations and findings of the recent audit leading the preparation and implementation of plans and strategies relating to audit and quality assurance of procedures, policies and statutory decisions leading consultation with staff and senior executive across the division engaging with external consultants and central areas of the department driving change management processes in the division staff development, mentoring and performance evaluation project planning and delivery contributing to policy development and identifying opportunities for business process improvement.
