Ability to communicate effectively within a team environment regarding service delivery and improvement opportunities within the work unit.
Ability to provide Occupational Therapy clinical services of a complex nature, where established principles, procedures and methods require some expansion, adaptation or modification. Ability to monitor and report clinical work practices and outcomes, as well as initiate, plan and evaluate local service improvement initiatives. Ability to provide clinical practice supervision to staff, students and assistants, to ensure the maintenance of clinical standards.
About Your Opportunity The Specialist Palliative Care Rural Telehealth service will provide multidisciplinary telehealth clinical palliative care support and guidance to rural and remote North Queensland. The Care in the Right Setting (CaRS) project included a 24-hour PallConsult line for prescribers, and four Regional Specialist Palliative Care Rural Telehealth Service Hub and Spoke Models. The model will enable Queenslanders living in rural, remote and isolated areas, greater equity of access to Specialist Palliative Care Service input, support and involvement when needed.
The Specialist Palliative Care Rural Telehealth Service will offer video telehealth patient consultations and/or phone clinical support for clinicians in rural and remote facilities within neighbouring regional Hospital and Health Service– wherever there is an unmet palliative care need. To further support the Spoke sites, it is essential that professional relationships are developed and that the host Hub site understands the complex nature of the regional and remote facilities culture of care, clinical capability and the cross-boundary system of health care delivery within the host HHS and the Spoke sites.
