Position Description Utilise your fabrication and welding skills and join our progressive team as a Fabrication Apprentice Ongoing Training and Support Northern Suburbs Location Full Time Positions About the Client: We are currently seeking two First Year Fabrication Apprentices for our client based in Smithfield. Gant and Sons Engineering is a family owned and run business offering structural steel fabrication and erection expertise throughout Australia. Our client provides large scale fabrication of structural steel projects for government including schools, bridges, RAAF and Adelaide Airport.
Key Responsibilities: Demonstrating and applying safe work practices Understanding Weld Procedure Specification sheets and applying to welding tasks with assistance Selecting, using and maintaining various hand and portable tools with due regards for application and safety Identifying ferrous and non-ferrous weldable grade materials Demonstrating application of welding skills, safety precautions, heat treatment and testing of welds Adherence to deadlines and time management High level of communication and team work Successfully completing a Certificate III in Engineering (Fabrication Trade) through TAFE SA About You: Certificate II in Engineering is advantageous Enjoy working hands-on in a physically demanding environment A genuine desire to develop a career in the industry, with the motivation and enthusiasm to do you your best each day, is a must Construction Safety Awareness (White) Card (or willingness to obtain one) Current Drivers Licence and reliable vehicle is essential Tickets such as Forklift and Dogging are advantageous Current National Police Clearance (or ability to gain one) is essential Flexibility and willingness to work outside of normal operating hours and on weekends is essential So what's in it for me?
