Domestic Violence Therapeutic Caseworker

Domestic and Family Violence is one of Australia’s leading causes of homelessness, and the impacts on children can be far reaching and diminishing. This role will deliver therapeutic child and family support case management, with a focus on the longer term recovery needs of children and women who have been exposed to or have experienced Domestic and Family Violence.
This role will work across CatholicCare’s broad supportive accommodation sites, including community outreach, and will contribute towards therapeutic casework delivery programs with the existing Specialist Homelessness Services teams. Some of your responsibilities will include: Deliver therapeutic case management services to clients experiencing Domestic and Family Violence; Integrate and support the wider SHS teams to deliver therapeutic service delivery across a spectrum of services with a strong reputation for excellence; Undertake risk assessments and safety planning for women experiencing domestic violence; Provide child focused lens on support and interventions; As well as other duties specified in the attached Position Description. About you To be considered for this role you will: Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate area e.
g. social work or related discipline or equivalent experience; Demonstrated understanding of domestic/family violence and working in the field of domestic/family violence including knowledge and familiarity with legal and other aspects of DV and child protection; Hold a valid working with children check clearance; Hold a current NSW driver’s licence; Availability for out of business hours shifts; As well as other criteria specified in the attached Position Description.
