Disability support worker / administrative assistant
We are seeking a female disability support worker to care for a physically disabled young woman in her Randwick home. The successful applicant will join a small team that provides 24-hour care to the client, who suffers from chronic pain and lack of mobility. The role focuses on a mixture of personal care and administrative work.
We are therefore seeking someone with administrative experience and/or an excellent academic background, e.g. an undergraduate nursing student with sufficient availabilities.
Duties will include: Personal care (bathing, dressing, continence-management) Medication monitoring and administration Household chores (cleaning, laundry, cooking) Administrative support (assistance with typing emails, creating Word and Excel documents, online shopping) Shopping & errands Requirements Have advanced written and spoken English-language skills; Experienced/trained in assisting with personal hygiene; Mid-level administrative skills and familiarity with MS Office; Attention to detail, esp. in maintaining household hygiene and food safety Willing to obtain relevant training / certificates if these have not already been obtained (course cost to be covered by employer) Hours of work: Minimum 4 days, preferably full-time 7 to 8-hour shifts during either 7am-3pm or 3pm-10pm Benefits We offer wages of at least $38/hour, higher than the industry standard of $22.52/hour Located just 6km from the CBD On-the-job training and ongoing guidance to be provided by a team leader Moderate work-load in a home environment.
