au Closing Date: Monday, 5 October 2020 at 11:00 am Position Summary The Professor will be a senior academic staff member of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences and provide outstanding leadership in health technology and innovation research within the Caring Futures Institute. The Caring Futures Institute was established in 2019 and is Australias first fully dedicated research centre for the study of selfcare and caring solutions leading to better lives, better communities, better care and better systems. The Caring Futures Institute is closely connected with community, consumers and carers, working closely with not for profit and private care sectors, government, and health and community services.
Adopting a knowledge translation approach, the institute brings together researchers, consumers, and users of health and community systems to codesign solutions, using innovative methodologies, technology, health and social care economics, and disruptive solutions to have impact. The Professor will provide leadership in health technology and innovation through collaboration, capacity building and advancing crossdisciplinary research activity within Caring Futures Institute as well as strengthening and exploring new partnerships with relevant internal and external stakeholders. The Professor will also be responsible for leadership in strategic course developments relating to emerging health technology and innovation industry priorities within the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
The College of Nursing and Health Sciences has recently developed a digital health specialisation within the undergraduate Health Sciences program and the Professor will be expected to undertake the role of specialisation advocate, leading and coordinating the relevant teaching related activities. The position may also be involved in teaching across other courses in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences or other Colleges, where appropriate. The Professor will advance the College and Caring Futures Institute in its reputation as a centre of excellence in education and research, both nationally and internationally, and advance the development of the discipline of Health Sciences and Digital Health.
The Professor will prioritise, coordinate, monitor workflow and provide informal daytoday feedback to relevant staff according to the University's policies, practices and standards.
