Description LMB Farming Admin Pty Ltd is currently seeking experienced Agricultural Technicians to perform and supervise a range of day to day farm operations on two of our banana farms based in the Innisfail region, North Queensland. About the role The responsibilities of this position are to assist the Farm Manager in carrying out duties associated with the day-to-day and long-term management of all areas involved in running a banana farm.
It will be their duty to assist with developing and implementing appropriate strategies to meet longer-term production goals and deliver gains towards profitability, efficiency and quality. This is a hands-on role with plenty of opportunity for career growth. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assist with examining topographical, physical and soil characteristics of farmland to identify nutrient deficiencies and determine the most effective use Assisting in developing new methods of planting, fertilising, harvesting and processing crops to achieve optimum land usage Analysing produce to set and maintain standards of quality and yields of banana crops Keep up to date with knowledge of pests and diseases that threaten the banana industry.
Have an understanding of how they spread, how to treat them and assist agricultural scientists in identifying pathogenic micro-organisms, insects, parasites, fungi and weeds that are harmful to crops.
